Vedic God Sri Ganapati

गणानां त्वा गणपतिं हवामहे 
कविं कविनामुपमश्रवस्तमम् |
ज्येष्ठराजं ब्रह्मणां ब्रह्मणस्पत आ नः
शृण्वन्नूतिभिः सीद सादनम ||
Rig Veda (2.23.1)
"O leader of Ganas, Lord Ganapati, greatest among poets, eldest of Shakti & Shiva's sons, fulfiller of all happiness and desires, we invoke thee in this yajya. Listening to our ode to You, as the caretaker of the entire world, kindly appear before us and be seated"

Sri Ganesh or Ganapati is a vedic deity and is referred to across the vedas by several names, most prominent being "Brahmanaspati". Also "Bruhaspati".

In the "Sri Mahāganapatisahasra Nama Stotra", Sri Ganesh has been described by the names "Brahmanaspati" & "Jyestha Raja (eldest one)".

गणानां त्वा गणपतिं हवामहे
प्रियाणां त्वा प्रियपतिं हवामहे |
निधीनां त्वा निधिपतिं हवामहे
वसो मम ||
Shukla Yajurved - Mādhyandin samhitā (23 | 19)

तत्पुरुषाय विद्महे वक्रतुण्डाय धीमहि |
तन्नो दन्ति प्रचोदयात ||
Krishna Yajurved - Taitterya samhitā

एकदन्ताय विद्महे वक्रतुण्डाय धीमहि |
तन्नो दन्ति प्रचोदयात ||
Atharvaved - Shounaki samhitā

In Sanātan Dharma all rituals are based on the five primary elements/tattwa whose presiding deities are as follows

1. क्षिति - ईश (Shiva)
2. अप - गणेश
3. तेजः - माहेश्वरी (Durga)
4. मरुत - सूर्य
5. व्योम - विष्णु
